We are movie enthusiasts exploring the power of film through regularly scheduled screenings and discussions. In these chaotic times, it can be harder to find those shared cultural experiences that enrich our lives in so many ways. The SPS Film Club strives to be an outlet for such experiences, engendering creative analysis, spirited discourse, and new perspectives.
All students, faculty, and alumni are welcome, whether you’re new to the joys of film or a seasoned aficionado. We watch two movies per month, selected through a voting process and typically related to a monthly theme. We then meet on Slack for live and ongoing discussions. A collection of supplemental resources can be found on this website for those interested in a deeper dive into each film’s production, context, and criticism. Throughout the semester you will also be invited to participate in live watch parties and prize raffles!
