Who can join?
CUNY alumni, students, and faculty members of all experience levels are welcome!
What is the time commitment?
We meet twice a month (Wednesdays at 8:00pm EDT) via Slack for discussions on our selected films. Members will receive an invitation via e-mail to join the club Slack channel, and additional reading materials will be available on this website under “Resources.” Bonus optional activities will also be offered throughout the semester. Your membership can be as casual or as rigorous as you wish!
How do I see the movie?
Participants should access selected movies by whatever method they prefer. We try to select films that are reasonably accessible either through streaming services or affordable rentals. We will also host occasional live remote watch parties.
How are the movies selected?
Each month we will post options for the next month’s viewing schedule. You can vote for your choices in the sidebar (up to two). The poll will be open for three weeks, and the top two movies will be selected for that month’s schedule. Democracy in action!
Why can’t I vote or enter my email?
